L7's signature sound of a heavy, catchy, mixture of punk, metal, noise and pop helped usher in the era of Grunge. Since their recording career began in 1987, the band has released six studio albums, three live albums, one covers LP, and one greatest hits to date on labels including Epitaph, Sup Pop, Slash, and Warner Brothers.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1985 by Donita Sparks-guitar and vocals, and Suzi Gardner- guitar and vocals, the band features Dee Plakas on drums and Jennifer Finch - bass and vocals.
While particularly known for their unforgettably raucous live performances, the band also spawned underground and mainstream hits including Shove, Pretend We're Dead, Shitlist, Andres, Fuel My Fire and more. Their music can be heard in television (ER), video games (Grand Theft Auto, Rock Band 2) and popular films including The Perks Of Being a Wallflower, Natural Born Killers and John Water's classic Serial Mom, in which they also star as fictitious band Camel Lips.
In 1991, the band founded Rock for Choice, a pro-choice organization with the Feminist Majority Foundation producing nationwide benefit concerts featuring the biggest musical acts of the day from Joan Jett to Nirvana.
In 2001 the band went on an 'indefinite hiatus'. After 15 years and at the urging of their fans via social media platforms, L7 reunited in 2015 and performed sold out shows around the globe to rave reviews and accolades from a new generation of music fans.
Their triumphant return continues with two new singles Dispatch from Mar-a-Lago and I Came Back to Bitch, released on Don Giovani Records. The latter, released in February of 2018 kicks off a US Tour in April in addition to tours of South America, Mexico, and Europe this summer.
A documentary on the band L7: Pretend We're Dead was released in 2017 to critical acclaim and demonstrates L7's contribution and legacy in the pantheon of rock.

With five GRAMMY® Awards, 14 Blues Foundation Awards, and a groundbreaking career spanning more than 50 years under his belt, Keb’ Mo’s got nothing left to prove. Just don’t tell him that.
Keb’ reflects, “I’m still breathing, and I’m still hungry. I’m still out there going for it every single day.”
Born and raised in Compton, Keb’ began his remarkable journey at the age of 21, when he landed his first significant gig playing with Jefferson Airplane violinist Papa John Creach. For 20 years, Keb’ would work primarily behind the scenes, establishing himself as a respected guitarist, songwriter, and arranger with a unique gift for linking the past and present in his evocative playing and singing. Though he recorded a one-off album in 1980 under his birth name, Kevin Moore, it wasn’t until 1994 that he would introduce the world to Keb’ Mo’ with the release of his widely acclaimed self-titled debut. Critics were quick to take note of Keb’s modern, genre-bending take on old-school sounds, and two years later, he garnered his first GRAMMY® Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album with Just Like You. In the decades to come, Keb’ would take home four more GRAMMY® Awards, top the Billboard Blues Chart seven times, perform everywhere from Carnegie Hall to The White House, collaborate with many, including Taj Mahal, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, The Chicks, and Lyle Lovett; have compositions recorded and sampled by artists as diverse as B.B. King, Zac Brown, and BTS; release signature guitars with both Gibson and Martin; compose music for television series like Mike and Molly, Memphis Beat, B Positive, and Martha Stewart Living; and earn the Americana Music Association’s 2021 award for Lifetime Achievement in Performance.
In addition to his extraordinary musical output, Keb’ has also established himself as a captivating onscreen presence over the years, appearing as himself in Martin Scorcese’s The Blues, Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing, and even the iconic children’s series Sesame Street. He flexed his acting chops in a wide variety of projects, as well, portraying Robert Johnson in the 1998 documentary Can’t You Hear The Wind Howl, Howlin’ Wolf on CMT’s Sun Records, and the ghostly bluesman Possum in John Sayles’ 2007 film Honeydripper. A fixture on late-night TV and award show stages, Keb’ has also performed on Letterman, Leno, Conan, Colbert, and Austin City Limits in addition to appearing on nationally televised broadcasts from The Kennedy Center, The Ryman Auditorium, and Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival.
A passionate philanthropist and outspoken activist, Keb’ has devoted countless hours and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support social, environmental, and racial justice throughout his career. As a celebrity mentor with The Kennedy Center’s Turnaround Arts Program, which began under the guidance of First Lady Michelle Obama and the President’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities, Keb’ “adopted” The Johnson School for Excellence in Chicago, where he teamed up with teachers, students, and parents to help develop a thriving arts education program. As a longtime ambassador for the Playing For Change Foundation, he’s supported the non-profit from its early days in its quest to provide free music education and basic needs like food, water, medicine, clothing, books, and school supplies to children worldwide.
Bringing it all back home, Keb’ looked to his own story for inspiration on his captivating album, Good To Be, artfully linking the grit and groove of his Compton roots with the strum and twang of his more recently adopted hometown of Nashville, TN, where he’s lived and worked for the last eleven years. The collection, drawing on country, folk, blues, and soul, transcends genre and geography, weaving together a joyful, heartwarming, and relentlessly optimistic tapestry that encompasses the entirety of this once-in-a-generation artist’s larger-than-life career.

About Shawn Colvin:
In an era when female singer-songwriters are ever more ubiquitous, Shawn Colvin stands out as a singular and enduring talent. Her songs are slow-release works of craft and catharsis that become treasured, lifetime companions for their listeners. As a storyteller, Colvin is both keen and warm-hearted, leavening even the toughest tales with tenderness, empathy, and a searing sense of humor. In the 30 years since the release of her debut album, Colvin has won three GRAMMY Awards, released thirteen albums, written a critically acclaimed memoir, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures and created a remarkable canon of work.
Colvin was born in Vermillion, South Dakota, where she lived until she was eight. A small-town childhood in the university town of Carbondale, IL. drew her to the guitar by the age of 10. She made her first public appearance on campus at the University of Illinois at age 15. By the late 1970’s Colvin was singing in a Western Swing band in Austin, TX.—the city she now calls home. She moved to New York at the decade’s end as a member of the Buddy Miller Band where she met producer, guitarist and co-writer John Leventhal. Leventhal inspired Colvin to find her own voice as a songwriter. She began honing her skill and was soon signed to Columbia Records. Her first album, Steady On, produced by Leventhal, won the GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Recording.
Colvin was most recently honored with an induction into the 2019 Austin City Limits Hall of Fame, alongside legendary artists Lyle Lovett and Buddy Guy. In a moving induction speech, Jackson Browne praised her as “ineffable” – ‘that which is impossible to express in words’ – and extolled, “Not many writers are able to do what Shawn does. It’s a very special way of relating what really matters. It takes an original to get our attention. Shawn is utterly original in her singing, and original in what she speaks about in her songs.”
Over the course of three decades, Shawn Colvin has established herself as a captivating performer and a revered storyteller, well-deserving of the commendation of her peers and the devoted audiences who have been inspired by her artistry. As she enters her thirtieth year as a songwriter and performer, she continues to reaffirm her status as a vital voice in music.

Not Your Basic Northwest Punk Fest passes the mic to bands with BIPOC, Queer, or Femme leads. Breaking the feedback loop, one fest at a time.
THE BLACK TONES
The Black Tones welcome audiences into their musical family every time they take the stage. Once you see them live, you’ve then become a part of their extended sonic kin. Founded by twins Eva and Cedric Walker, the Seattle-based rock ‘n’ roll band has grown from humble beginnings in their grandmother’s basement to receiving recognition from Guitar World, AfroPunk, KEXP, American Songwriter, Under the Radar and NPR, which said, ”The Black Tones are redefining Seattle music.”
Over the past handful of years, the rock group has shared stages with Weezer, Mavis Staples, Death Cab for Cutie, Tank and the Bangas, Fishbone and many more. The group has also worked closely with Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready on several projects, including a cover of U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)." And in 2019, The Black Tones released their debut LP, Cobain & Cornbread, which was engineered by the legendary Godfather of Grunge, Jack Endino.
That album garnered the group many accolades, including the rank of #17 on KEXP’s Best Albums of 2019 list. Not to be outdone, The Seattle Times dubbed the group one of the 15 Most Influential Artists of the 2010’s. In 2020 The Black Tones released a limited edition 7” (“Where Do We Go Now” b/w “The Devil & Grandma'') on McCready’s record label, HockyTalkter Records. And in 2022, the rock band caught the attention of Sub Pop Records, which released their single, “The End of Everything” b/w “Mr. Mines.”
While these accomplishments are lofty, Eva and Cedric keep their feet firmly on the ground, maintaining warmth and humility, joy and a sense of familial freedom. To wit, The Black Tones boast their own hate group-fighting 8-bit video game, “They Want Us Dead,” inspired by their hit single, “The Key of Black.” In the game, players can fight hate groups like the alt-right, slave owners and more as either Eva or Cedric, traveling back through time.
Truly, for the band, music is as much entertainment and expression as it is a chance at activism. To change the world—or even a single person’s perception of it—through songs is an honor for Eva and Cedric one it does not take lightly. Whether singing songs about the danger black bodies incur daily, spiders in their childhood bedrooms or fantastical “ghetto spaceships,” The Black Tones' charisma and infectious blues-punk approach is exemplary, essential and the stuff of deep roots.
BLACK ENDS
It’s a stork! It’s a plane! No, it’s Black Ends! Hailing from the yuppie infested “seen brighter days” city of Seattle,WA we have a hit making trio trying to slither their way into SPOTIFY STARDOM! There’s Nikolle Swims on guitar/vocals. There’s Bent Swanson on bass. There’s Billie J Paine on drums. When they come together, Gunk Pop is born and born and born again! Gunk Pop is like mud you enjoy the taste of or a gentle kiss from a person with a rotting tooth or like bubblegum candy on the bottom of your decades used up adidas. Since everyone’s a musician these days, a lot of important music is looked over rapidly and repeatedly. You don’t want to miss this band though, it’s as if Nirvana were tamer and inspired by Jeff Buckley or Elliott Smith or Shudder to Think. It’s a fistful of heavy guitar pop melodies with a type of desperation you can’t really look away from. In the last couple of years, Black Ends has opened for Bikini Kill, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Lambrini Girls, and Otoboke Beaver. Their debut record "Psychotic Spew" was released in fall 2024 and since then, they’ve been making a pretty good name for themselves around the PNW. The record had some acclaimed write ups from Bandcamp Daily, KEXP, Seattle Times, Flood Magazine, Wash Magazine, and New Noise Mag. They were recently featured as an Artist to Watch in 2025 in Alt Press Magazine. BE also recently performed a KEXP session for the second time in their short time as a band. Their journey through this corporate music world hasn’t been the easiest come up, but with songs like this, one can only hope and see a very bright future for this trio. Dive into this Gunk Pop black hole of bliss. “All we want is to make Rock and Roll music not stale anymore. For a kid to find our music who feels alienated in this world and for it to resonate and change their mind on the things this cruel world bashed into their head. We want rock music to mean something again, to stop kids from becoming boring bankers or giving their lives to a 9 to 5 meaningless job. We want music to say something again, to be something again, doesn’t everyone miss feeling alive? Maybe just maybe our music can bring just a little of that to the world - we’re just a single band but we’ve got a lot to say and a lot of music to give”
Listen to Black Ends. Go see a show. Keep music sacred. Hug your vinyl. Rock n Roll is here to stay.
BLACK ENDS IS GUNK POP .
SPLINTERHEAD
SPLINTERHEAD is a three piece experimental punk rock band roaring from the concrete labyrinth of Portland Oregon. He brings a vulnerable intensity to every song, balancing aggression and melody in a way that gives the band its distinct voice. Whether it’s a basement show or a bigger stage, Teryl’s presence pulls the whole room in—Live Alone hits hard, but it’s the feeling underneath that sticks with you.

The Infamous Stringdusters
The Infamous Stringdusters are a celebrated American
progressive bluegrass band known for their virtuosic musicianship,
innovative arrangements, and genre-blending style. The GRAMMY®
Award-winning Americana quintet—Andy Falco [guitar], Chris Pandolfi
[banjo], Andy Hall [dobro], Jeremy Garrett [fiddle], and Travis Book
[double bass]—have musical influences that truly run the gamut, but
their common denominator is certainly bluegrass— the sound that has in
essence defined the course of their career.
The Infamous Stringdusters stand out as the rare group who can team up with contemporary artists on late night television one night and headline the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre the next, and have recently emerged as proprietors behind their newly found independent record label, Americana Vibes.
Manifesting an actual flock of impassioned fandom, much like those who paved the road before them, the band have attracted a faithful international audience that continues to grow. Moreover, their powerful music and performances paved the way for a GRAMMY® Award win in the category of “Best Bluegrass Album” for 2017’s Laws of Gravity, and a number of International Bluegrass Music Awards (IBMA) in a variety of categories. Known for their energetic live shows and improvisational prowess, The Infamous Stringdusters continue to push the boundaries of bluegrass while honoring its roots, captivating audiences across the country and around the world.
Leftover Salmon
Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special, once-in-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon.
Since their earliest days as a forward thinking, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound, to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene, to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly, unique style.
The band now features a lineup that has been together longer than any other in Salmon history and is one of the strongest the legendary band has ever assembled. Built around the core of founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman, the band is now powered by banjo-wiz Andy Thorn and driven by the steady rhythm section of bassist Greg Garrison, drummer Alwyn Robinson, and dobro player & keyboardist Jay Starling.
The current lineup is continuing the long, storied history of Salmon which found them first emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one the original jam bands, before rising to become architects of what has become known as Jamgrass and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live.
Salmon is a band who for more than thirty years has never stood still; they are constantly changing, evolving, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch, to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.

Indigo Girls
Across four decades, 16 studio albums, and over 15 million records sold, Indigo Girls continue to blaze the trail for generations of Queer artists in the mainstream. The Grammy-winning duo of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray began their career in clubs and bars around their native Atlanta, GA amidst a blossoming alternative music scene before signing to Epic Records in 1988. Indigo
Girls' eponymous major label debut sold over two million copies under the power of singles
"Closer to Fine" and "Kid Fears" and introduced the duo's signature harmonies and stirring, sophisticated songs to a dedicated, enduring global audience. Indigo Girls was the first of six consecutive Gold and/or Platinum-certified albums. Their latest record, Look Long, is a heartfelt and eclectic collection of songs that finds the duo reunited in the studio with their strongest backing band to date. "We joke about being old, but what is old when it comes to music? We're
still a bar band at heart," says Saliers. "While our lyrics and writing approach may change, our passion for music feels the same as it did when we were 25 years old."
Committed and uncompromising activists, Saliers and Ray work on issues like racial justice and reproductive rights (Project Say Something), immigration reform (El Refugio), LGBTQ advocacy, education (Imagination Library), death penalty reform, and Native American rights (First Peoples Fund).
"As time has gone on, our audience has become more expansive and diverse, giving me a sense of joy," says Saliers. Recently, "Closer to Fine" featured prominently in Greta Gerwig's blockbuster film Barbie and introduced Indigo Girls' music to a new generation of listeners. Released in 2024, their critically-acclaimed documentary Indigo Girls: It's Only Life After All (directed by Alexandria Bombach) blends 40 years of home movies, raw film archive, and intimate present-day verité into a soulful career retrospective. A New York Times Critic's Pick, the documentary premiered opening night at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 and went on to screen at SXSW, Tribeca Film Festival, and Hot Docs before releasing to Netflix. A third film, director Tom Gustafson's 2023 jukebox musical Glitter & Doom tells the tale of a whirlwind summer romance through inventive reimaginations of classic Indigo Girls songs. Glitter & Doom boasts a star-studded queer supporting cast featuring Lea DeLaria, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson (The B-52s), RuPaul's Drag Race alum Peppermint, and even a cameo from Amy and Emily themselves.
While Rolling Stone describes them as "ideal duet partners," Indigo Girls' live performances aren't so much duets as they are community experiences-massive group singalongs together with their audience. To hear those collective voices raise into one, overpowering the band itself, one realizes the importance Indigo Girls' music has in this moment. In our often-terrifying present, we are all in search of a daily refuge, a stolen hour or two, to engage with something that brings us joy, perspective, or maybe just calm. As one bar band once put it, "We go to the doctor, we go to the mountains...we go to the Bible, we go through the work out." For millions, they go to the Indigo Girls: a creative partnership certain of its bearings, forging a way forward.
Melissa Etheridge
Melissa Etheridge stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, which led to an appearance on the 1989 Grammy Awards show. For several years, her popularity grew around such memorable originals as "Bring Me Some Water," "No Souvenirs" and "Ain't It Heavy," for which she won a Grammy in 1992. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am (1993). The collection featured the massive hits, "I'm the Only One" and "Come to My Window," a searing song of longing that brought Etheridge her second Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Performance. In 1995, Etheridge issued her highest charting album, Your Little Secret, which was distinguished by the hit single, "I Want to Come Over." Her astounding success that year led to Etheridge receiving the Songwriter of the Year honor at the ASCAP Pop Awards in 1996.
Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Etheridge has remained one of America's favorite female singers for more than two decades. In February 2007, Melissa Etheridge celebrated a career milestone with a victory in the "Best Song" category at the Academy Awards for "I Need to Wake Up," written for the Al Gore documentary on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth. As a performer and songwriter, Etheridge has shown herself to be an artist who has never allowed "inconvenient truths" to keep her down. Earlier in her recording career, Etheridge acknowledged her sexual orientation when it was considered less than prudent to do so. In October 2004, Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer, a health battle that, with her typical tenacity, she won. Despite losing her hair from chemotherapy, Etheridge appeared on the 2005 Grammy telecast to sing "Piece of My Heart" in tribute to Janis Joplin. By doing so she gave hope to many women afflicted with the disease.
On October 7, 2016 Melissa Etheridge released Memphis Rock & Soul, her first album since 2014's critically lauded This Is M.E. Recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis, the album received stellar reviews from the likes of Entertainment Weekly, Parade, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter and more. She followed that up with the release of The Medicine Show in April, 2019. For The Medicine Show, Melissa reunited with celebrated producer John Shanks and sounds as rousing as ever, bringing a new level of artistry to her 15th studio recording.
In June of 2020, Etheridge launched The Etheridge Foundation to support groundbreaking scientific research into effective new treatments for opioid use disorder. The Foundation works towards advancing treatment approaches that address the root causes of opioid abuse and make available better, more effective solutions for people to truly heal their opioid use disorder.
In 2021, Melissa returned with then album One Way Out. The 9-track album is a collection of songs Etheridge wrote in the late '80s and early '90s that never made the cut... .until now! The time was finally right, and fans finally got a deeper glimpse to who Melissa was then.
October 2022 saw Melissa's return to the theatre with her one woman show, My Window - A Journey Through Life. The critically acclaimed, sold-out run premiered at New World Stages on October 13 and opened at Circle In the Square Theatre on Broadway in September 2023.
2024 saw Melissa release Melissa Etheridge: I'm Not Broken, a two-part docuseries (Paramount+) and accompanying live album. Recorded live within the grounds of the Topeka Correctional facility the album and two-part docuseries follows her journey both penning and performing an original song inspired by her correspondence with residents of the TCF and features raw and rousing versions of specially curated fan favorites and original songs.

PAM CUT is thrilled to present a special screening of Kate Bush’s mystical art film The Line, The Cross, The Curve, directed by, written by and starring Kate Bush. It was released in 1993 as a companion piece to her album The Red Shoes, and features 6 songs from the album. The album and the film both draw inspiration from the classic Grimm’s fairytale of The Red Shoes, as well as Michael Powell’s 1948 film of the same name. We’ll also kick off the screening with a curated selection of some of Kate Bush’s most iconic music videos, from the fertile early years of her career, 1978-1993, which saw her collaborating with the likes of Terry Gilliam and more.
Join us as we step into the visual realm of this singular avant-pop diva, a world rich with mythology and magic, full of striking fashion, sumptuous sets, deep symbolic imagery, and imaginal resonance. As we journey through her music videos, as well as her film, we see her embodying a myriad of feminine archetypes, holding a mirror up to these aspects of womanhood. Her music, and her cinematic offerings, invite us – to quote Clarissa Pinkola Estes in Women Who Run with the Wolves – to experience “ llamar o tocar a la puerta, the fairy-tale knock at the door of the deep feminine psyche.”
This event is curated by Gina Altamura, Holocene talent buyer and also known as DJ Serious Moonlight on XRAY.FM, and is presented at the Tomorrow Theater in partnership with PAM CUT, Holocene, and XRAY.FM.
ON SCREEN: The Line, the Cross & the Curve
1993. Directed by Kate Bush. Runtime: 45 minutes.
A singer struggles to dance well in rehearsal with her band. A power outage leaves her alone in the studio, reviewing her life, when a mysterious woman appears through the mirror and gives her a pair of Red Shoes. The cursed shoes dance beautifully, but endlessly. The singer is drawn irresistibly into the fey world beyond the mirror, where she must redeem three magic symbols from the mysterious woman in order to obtain release from the cursed shoes.
HOSTED BY: Gina Altamura
Gina Altamura is a live music and arts event curator and DJ out of Portland, Oregon. She has been curating events for local music venue Holocene since 2008. In July, the AJB will play a mix of festivals and intimate club shows around the greater Seattle area. They'll also appear at the Ohana Festival on September 27 in Dana Point, CA.

Federale is a six-piece ensemble based in Portland, OR. Spearheaded by longtime Brian Jonestown Massacre bassist Collin Hegna, the band was conceived as an outlet to channel inspiration from '60s & '70s European soundtracks, particularly those from Italy made famous by the Spaghetti Western & Giallo genres. As well as the narrative driven song stylings of Lee Hazlewood and Nick Cave.
Reverb & Seduction is the legendary Portland band's most immersive and varied album to date. A tour de force road trip from psych rock to country duets that never strays too far from the spaghetti western roots that inspired the band so many blood moons ago.
"...equal parts Ennio Morricone, Lee Hazelwood, and Nick Cave with a touch of Chris Isaak's less romantic side... few if any artists are brave and/or creative enough to channel this ghostly, often ominous vibe into moving, sensual and stirring music." HAL HOROWITZ, American Songwriter
